20" x 24" oil on canvas
In the midst of a storm, the quiet of a chapel beckons to the weary and downcast spirit. In 2018 while painting in Atlanta, I got caught in a sudden downpour of rain and sought refuge in the beautiful, peaceful Mikell Chapel. The priest present at the time invited me to wait out the weather in the hushed calm of the chapel and graciously allowed me to paint the serene and spiritual interior. This painting reminds me of the comfort holy places bring to us in times of physical, emotional, and spiritual need.
