“Amicalola Falls” by Jeff Williams

$ 1,000.00

10” x 8” painting size, Watercolor on Watercolor Paper

I started this piece alongside my painting buddy Spencer Meagher at Georgia's Amicalola Falls State Park during the 2022 Olmsted Plein Air Invitational. (An 8.5 mile approach trail from the registration station at the falls runs to Springer Mountain, the southern terminus of the Appalachian Trail). It was Easter Sunday, so the crowds around the falls eventually got pretty large, and I only got about halfway through the painting before we had to move on. Eventually I finished the painting in the studio. After
completion I posted the painting image and this background story on social media, and I was immediately contacted by Kelly Kane, the editor of Plein Air Magazine, requesting to feature the painting and story in their "Postcards from the Road" section of the December/January issue of Plein air Magazine!
