The grounds around the U.S. Capitol were designed by Olmsted including the paths, lanterns, bus stops, air intake towers, etc. This view from the Eastern side, facing the Capitol Hill neighborhood was updated after 2001 to increase security, but the original Olmsted features still dominate the view.
