Painted on location at Cypremort Point, Louisiana, as part of Shadows on the Teche Plein Air in March 2023; I have visited this location, a small recreational fishing village remotely located at the end of this spit of land, numerous times; I specifically sought out this scene, one of the best locations for sunsets in the region, because I liked the tight view of the sunset down the inlet; with little time to execute the painting, the focus is necessarily on the light and most of the rest of the scene is in silhouette; painting
is a UV archival varnished watercolor on 200# rough Saunders Waterford paper archivally mounted to Gatorboard
