This particular painting of the Swan House at the Atlanta History Center was begun during Olmsted Plein Air Invitational 2022, but I did not consider it complete at that time. Consequently, I completed this painting in the studio. This particular view celebrates that garden side of the estate, focusing on the stairs and fountains that terrace down the hillside. I was particularly attracted to the shadows on the complex forms, and felt like from this view they connected in a way so as to link the various forms in the painting.
