No Trespassing! Ozark Mill on the Finley

This plein air watercolor, painted at the Ozark Mill in Springfield, Missouri, was painted while on a November 2022 painting trip with Greg Summers, Lon Brauer and Richard Sneary. While the others focused on an overall view of the mill building itself, I was intrigued with the process of capturing the river's power and the fact that this area was not only no longer used, but also no longer accessible. I thought that this composition of the pump house and the "No Trespassing" sign captured the solemn energy of this mill, which was currently under renovation.
