At Plein Air South, I was responsible for demos, teaching, mentoring… in between that time, I could paint on my own. On my way to “work” most days, I saw this marsh - where the Appalachicola River empties into the Bay which feeds the Gulf of Mexico. You see - all this water is actually fed by the Chattahoochie River in North Georgia…the red clays do “something” to the color here. I said to myself…”I bet this is stunning in the afternoon with the back light !“ so, I came back that afternoon - and Voilá !
