I chanced upon these delicate blooms sprouting in an unkempt lawn, all color among otherwise winter-weary vegetation. I find it difficult to paint flowers head-on as their shape isn't as easily described; additionally blue-violet shades can be too subdued to be highlighted as the main subject, but they were so delightful I tried. Glad I did. The next day they'd been flattened by tires and a whole year before we'd meet again.
