Morning Mist
Oil on Wood Panel
6" x 9"
This was painted on a trip to Canada, where we were staying with friends and woke up to a beautiful morning mist over the pond out our bedroom window. The yellow iris where in bloom, such luck! While I lied a little about the water lilies being in bloom at the same time, I felt no guilt, the painting really needed the little spots of light. The mist simplified the layers of the pond and sent them back into a lavender haze. It was fleeting, and quickly burned off but the memory I have is as fresh today as it was that lovely morning.
