On the north end of Point Lobos lies a small cove in between the rocks. China Cove was once a place where visitors could swim in the turquoise waters, but now through nature conservation efforts it's a permanent spot for the local harbor seals to raise their young. These sea creatures are often spotted at this location, especially when one can stay for hours painting.
