This time of day, off the pier at my mom and dads cabin, looking out at the bay, was a time of day that it was mandatory for us to gather and chat and watch the sun go down for our spin thru the night. It was OK if I was there and painting! If you really observe the sunset, from about 20 minutes before to 20 minutes after, you will see a glorious array of color and shapes . Enough to dazzle the senses in a way nothing else really can. AND, it is FREE! You ponder; how fast time is moving, every second a different display. This was just after the sun dipped its last lobe of glory into the water, this boat was always so picturesque in this motif but was was an enigma to my dad. He never could figure out why I always put it in my paintings of that view and left out his motor boat :-) ! I tell him it reminds me of tomorrow, the sun will come up, the fair winds will surge, catching it's sails, bringing in the hopes and dreams of the future. He said "well, my boat does that for me too" FYI, I did paint it once and gave him the painting, it made him happy
