After years of painting landscapes I started to teach on a regular basis and found that Alla Prima Still Life was the best way to do this --very close to Plein Air. My emphasis is always on hitting the notes (color) properly and it takes some practice. Recently I've gone much larger with these "all in one shot" paintings and they have a fresh feel like the best of my Plein Air. This one features Blue & white pottery that my wife helps me collect just for this purpose.
