Capturing the play of light under an old live oak, the first rays of sunshine dancing on the salt marsh or the dappled light in Oglethorpe Square, the Best Use of Light award recognizes the play of light in a painting and how it enhances the artist eye-view. When painting en plein air (in the out of doors) the light is constantly shifting. The winner of Best Use of Light gets it just right. The award is selected by a panel of judges and must receive unanimous agreement among the panel.
