Prelude
Oil on Linen Panel
14" x 22"
As I was leaving a farm one evening, I turned back to see the sky. What caught my attention, however, was these two cows, older and younger. I watched them for several minutes as they stood rimmed in gold silver light. They seemed to embody the kind of tension present between parents and teenagers - one wants to go their own way, and the other knows better.
That idea combined with the slow-moving sky where clouds cover the sun gave me the feeling of change coming. So, it is titled "Prelude."
