Standing in the Moonlight
Oil on Wood Panel
4" x 18"
When traveling I 95 south from New York, there is some point in Virginia where I start seeing lines of tall pine trees. There have been many times at night when the moon is out especially one particular trip where there was a full moon, which lit up the silhouettes of the trees as I drove and it was just magical. I was the only one on the road that night of the full moon and the trees seemed to greet and welcome me as I entered the southern states. At 4-1/2" x 18", "Standing in the Moonlight" is a larger version of a much smaller one I played around with. I definitely will continue to explore the subject matter in future paintings.
